SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of James J. "Jim" Louch Sr., who passed
4away on April 1, 2024; and
5 WHEREAS, Jim Louch was born in Joliet to Benjamin and
6Hazel (Edwards) Louch on November 29, 1933; he attended St.
7Patrick High School in Chicago; and
8 WHEREAS, Jim Louch was a member of Laborers Union Local 75
9and then worked for Will County, retiring from the Land Use
10Department; and
11 WHEREAS, Jim Louch was a member of the Croatian Cultural
12Club and Joliet Township Seniors; he was the past president
13and a lifetime member of the Chaney Progressive Club, a
14lifelong member of the Moose Club, and a longtime parishioner
15and usher at St. Anne's Catholic Church; and
16 WHEREAS, Jim Louch had an amazing sense of humor and could
17make everyone around him smile; he enjoyed writing poems,
18watching westerns on TV, and, most of all, spending time with
19his family; and
20 WHEREAS, Jim Louch was preceded in death by his parents;

1his grandson, Benjamin Louch; his sisters, Betty (Cal)
2Gergacz, Charlotte (John) Ligos, Roma (Steve) Kimak, Mary Lou
3(Buzz) Welter, and Shirley (George) Liker; and his brothers,
4Joseph (Betty) Louch, Robert (Judy) Louch, and George
5(MerryJo) Grant; and
6 WHEREAS, Jim Louch is survived by his wife of 68 years,
7Margaret (Shukle) Louch; his children, Joseph Louch, James
8(Audrey) Louch Jr., Carolyn (Chuck) Willard, and Annette
9(Brian) Parker; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter;
10and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
11 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13James J. "Jim" Louch Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to
14his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
