2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of James J. "Jim" Louch Sr., who passed | ||||||
4 | away on April 1, 2024; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Jim Louch was born in Joliet to Benjamin and | ||||||
6 | Hazel (Edwards) Louch on November 29, 1933; he attended St. | ||||||
7 | Patrick High School in Chicago; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Jim Louch was a member of Laborers Union Local 75 | ||||||
9 | and then worked for Will County, retiring from the Land Use | ||||||
10 | Department; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Jim Louch was a member of the Croatian Cultural | ||||||
12 | Club and Joliet Township Seniors; he was the past president | ||||||
13 | and a lifetime member of the Chaney Progressive Club, a | ||||||
14 | lifelong member of the Moose Club, and a longtime parishioner | ||||||
15 | and usher at St. Anne's Catholic Church; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Jim Louch had an amazing sense of humor and could | ||||||
17 | make everyone around him smile; he enjoyed writing poems, | ||||||
18 | watching westerns on TV, and, most of all, spending time with | ||||||
19 | his family; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Jim Louch was preceded in death by his parents; |

1 | his grandson, Benjamin Louch; his sisters, Betty (Cal) | ||||||
2 | Gergacz, Charlotte (John) Ligos, Roma (Steve) Kimak, Mary Lou | ||||||
3 | (Buzz) Welter, and Shirley (George) Liker; and his brothers, | ||||||
4 | Joseph (Betty) Louch, Robert (Judy) Louch, and George | ||||||
5 | (MerryJo) Grant; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Jim Louch is survived by his wife of 68 years, | ||||||
7 | Margaret (Shukle) Louch; his children, Joseph Louch, James | ||||||
8 | (Audrey) Louch Jr., Carolyn (Chuck) Willard, and Annette | ||||||
9 | (Brian) Parker; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; | ||||||
10 | and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
13 | James J. "Jim" Louch Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
14 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
