2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Pearl A. Schneider of Jacksonville, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on March 7, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Pearl Schneider was born in Columbia to Vernon | ||||||
6 | Valentine and Marcella Janson Schneider on April 13, 1948; she | ||||||
7 | graduated from Immaculate Conception Elementary School in | ||||||
8 | Columbia in 1962 and from SS. Peter & Paul High School in | ||||||
9 | Waterloo in 1966; she received her Bachelor of Science in | ||||||
10 | Education (Elementary/Special Education) from | ||||||
11 | SIU-Edwardsville in 1975 and a Master of Science in Education | ||||||
12 | in 1987; she took classes for her Ed.D. program at | ||||||
13 | SIU-Edwardsville in 1993; she lived in Pittsfield from 1974 to | ||||||
14 | 1988 and settled in Jacksonville in 1989; and

15 | WHEREAS, Pearl Schneider taught for the West Pike School | ||||||
16 | District from 1975 to 1976 at New Canton and Hull and then for | ||||||
17 | Jacksonville School District 117 from 1976 to 2001 at | ||||||
18 | Jacksonville Elementary School, Eisenhower Elementary School, | ||||||
19 | and Washington Elementary School as a Special Education | ||||||
20 | teacher; she served from 2001 to 2003 as an Assistant Special | ||||||
21 | Education Director for the Jacksonville School District; from | ||||||
22 | 2003 to 2010, she worked as a State Special Education | ||||||
23 | Consultant and the Illinois Alternate Assessment Director for |

1 | the Illinois State Board of Education; she retired on February | ||||||
2 | 28, 2010; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Pearl Schneider was a member of the Church of Our | ||||||
4 | Saviour and the Pittsfield Theatre Guild from 1974 to 1988; | ||||||
5 | she served on the Routt School Board from 1999 to 2005 and the | ||||||
6 | Our Saviour School Board from 2010 to 2018; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Pearl Schneider is survived by supportive | ||||||
8 | neighbors and many friends, including Dennis and Pat Pope and | ||||||
9 | their children, Alex and Emily; therefore, be it
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
12 | Pearl A. Schneider and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
13 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
14 | further

15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
16 | presented to the friends of Pearl Schneider as an expression | ||||||
17 | of our deepest sympathy.
