2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of John M. Snodsmith, M.D. of | ||||||
4 | Springfield, who passed away on February 27, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dr. Snodsmith was born to Elmer L. and Laura E. | ||||||
6 | (Mitchell) Snodsmith in Mt. Vernon on June 25, 1944; he | ||||||
7 | attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota; he later | ||||||
8 | graduated from Tulane University Medical School; he served in | ||||||
9 | the U.S. Navy for two years; he completed his residency at the | ||||||
10 | Mayo Clinic and had lived in Springfield since 1976; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Dr. Snodsmith was a partner in Clinical Radiology | ||||||
12 | for 37 years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Dr. Snodsmith belonged to the American College of | ||||||
14 | Radiology and the Korsakoff Society; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Dr. Snodsmith was a parishioner at the Cathedral | ||||||
16 | of the Immaculate Conception; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Dr. Snodsmith was preceded in death by his | ||||||
18 | parents and his brothers, Ralph and James; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Dr. Snodsmith is survived by his wife, Lynda; his |

1 | daughters, Leanne and Shannon; his son, Willie (Brooke); his | ||||||
2 | grandchildren, Gabrielle (Craig), Isabelle, and Nora; his | ||||||
3 | great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Catherine; his sister, | ||||||
4 | Sarah Weddell; and his several nieces and nephews; therefore, | ||||||
5 | be it

6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | John M. Snodsmith, M.D. and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
9 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
10 | further
| ||||||
11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to the family of Dr. Snodsmith as an expression of | ||||||
13 | our deepest sympathy.
