SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
to learn of the death of John M. Snodsmith, M.D. of
Springfield, who passed away on February 27, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Snodsmith was born to Elmer L. and Laura E.
(Mitchell) Snodsmith in Mt. Vernon on June 25, 1944; he
attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota; he later
graduated from Tulane University Medical School; he served in
the U.S. Navy for two years; he completed his residency at the
Mayo Clinic and had lived in Springfield since 1976; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Snodsmith was a partner in Clinical Radiology
for 37 years; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Snodsmith belonged to the American College of
Radiology and the Korsakoff Society; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Snodsmith was a parishioner at the Cathedral
of the Immaculate Conception; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Snodsmith was preceded in death by his
parents and his brothers, Ralph and James; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Snodsmith is survived by his wife, Lynda; his

daughters, Leanne and Shannon; his son, Willie (Brooke); his
grandchildren, Gabrielle (Craig), Isabelle, and Nora; his
great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Catherine; his sister,
Sarah Weddell; and his several nieces and nephews; therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
John M. Snodsmith, M.D. and extend our sincere condolences to
his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Dr. Snodsmith as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
