2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Gerald J. White of Waukegan, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on July 30, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Gerald White was born on January 22, 1932 in | ||||||
6 | Waukegan; his parents were James and Frances White; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Gerald White served his country as a member of the | ||||||
8 | United States Army for 2 years; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Gerald White graduated from Waukegan High School | ||||||
10 | in 1950; he subsequently earned a bachelor's degree from Notre | ||||||
11 | Dame in 1958 and a master's degree from DePaul University; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Gerald White was employed at Abbott Laboratories | ||||||
13 | for 2 years; he later taught at St. Mary's High School in Mount | ||||||
14 | Clemmons, Michigan for 4 years and at North Chicago High School | ||||||
15 | for 30 years, teaching United States history and coaching | ||||||
16 | baseball; and

17 | WHEREAS, Gerald White was a counselor at the Culver | ||||||
18 | Military Academy's Woodcraft Summer Camp for 20 years; he | ||||||
19 | volunteered with the SPRED program at Most Blessed Trinity for | ||||||
20 | many years; and

1 | WHEREAS, Gerald White loved taking yearly trips to British | ||||||
2 | Columbia and hiked in the mountains; he also enjoyed attending | ||||||
3 | Notre Dame football games and the Chicago White Sox; and

4 | WHEREAS, Gerald White is survived by a sister, Rhea White; | ||||||
5 | his cousins, Violet Gibbs, Ralph Kenyon, Robert White, | ||||||
6 | Marylinda Snow, Constance Wahlin, William Blake, Roger | ||||||
7 | Grodeon, Ty Grodeon, Jeannine Gibbs-Heart, Kathleen (Roy) | ||||||
8 | Anderson and her family, Richard (Candace) Kenyon and his | ||||||
9 | family, Philip (Kimberly) Kenyon, and Mary (Robert) Fritz and | ||||||
10 | her family; and his beloved dog, Ginger; therefore, be it

11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
13 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Gerald J. White; and | ||||||
14 | be it further

15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
16 | presented to the family of Gerald White as an expression of our | ||||||
17 | sympathy.
