SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Arthur F. Wendler, Sr., of Edwardsville,
who passed away on May 14, 2010; and
WHEREAS, He was born July 19, 1922, in St. Jacob, the son
of the late Moritz and Lena (Busse) Wendler; and
WHEREAS, He practiced law in the Troy and Edwardsville area
for 61 years, many of those years from his law office in Troy;
he tried a case before the Supreme Court in 1993; and
WHEREAS, He was a B-24 pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps
during World War II; he was a member of the Illinois Bar
Association, the American Bar Association, American Legion
Post 708 in Troy, and Eden United Church of Christ in
Edwardsville; he was a graduate of the University of Illinois
School of Law in 1948; and
WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his two sisters and
nine brothers; and
WHEREAS, Arthur Wendler Sr. is survived by his son, Eric
Wendler and his wife, Tricia; his grandchildren, Elaine Renee
Wendler and Noah Wendler; and his brother, Herb Wendler;

therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
his family and friends, the passing of Arthur F. Wendler, Sr.;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Arthur Wendler, Sr. as a symbol of
our sincere sympathy.
