1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Arthur F. Wendler, Sr., of Edwardsville, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on May 14, 2010; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, He was born July 19, 1922, in St. Jacob, the son | ||||||
6 | of the late Moritz and Lena (Busse) Wendler; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, He practiced law in the Troy and Edwardsville area | ||||||
8 | for 61 years, many of those years from his law office in Troy; | ||||||
9 | he tried a case before the Supreme Court in 1993; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, He was a B-24 pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps | ||||||
11 | during World War II; he was a member of the Illinois Bar | ||||||
12 | Association, the American Bar Association, American Legion | ||||||
13 | Post 708 in Troy, and Eden United Church of Christ in | ||||||
14 | Edwardsville; he was a graduate of the University of Illinois | ||||||
15 | School of Law in 1948; and

16 | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his two sisters and | ||||||
17 | nine brothers; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Arthur Wendler Sr. is survived by his son, Eric | ||||||
19 | Wendler and his wife, Tricia; his grandchildren, Elaine Renee | ||||||
20 | Wendler and Noah Wendler; and his brother, Herb Wendler; |

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
4 | his family and friends, the passing of Arthur F. Wendler, Sr.; | ||||||
5 | and be it further
| ||||||
6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Arthur Wendler, Sr. as a symbol of | ||||||
8 | our sincere sympathy.
