2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of United States Army Corporal Bryant J. | ||||||
4 | "B.J." Luxmore of New Windsor, who was killed in Afghanistan on | ||||||
5 | June 10, 2012; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, He was born November 3, 1986, in New Windsor, and | ||||||
7 | was an avid athlete and student; he graduated from Sherrard | ||||||
8 | High School in 2005, where he was a member of the football and | ||||||
9 | baseball teams; he then attended Monmouth College and graduated | ||||||
10 | from Illinois College in 2009, where he continued his baseball | ||||||
11 | career at the collegiate level; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, He entered the United States Army in April 2011 | ||||||
13 | and was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd | ||||||
14 | Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division; he married Jaimie | ||||||
15 | Lower on October 8, 2011, and the couple relocated to Fort | ||||||
16 | Stewart, Georgia, to begin their life together with their son, | ||||||
17 | Lane; and

18 | WHEREAS, He was deployed to Afghanistan just 2 months ago; | ||||||
19 | he was posthumously promoted to corporal, awarded the Bronze | ||||||
20 | Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Infantryman Badge; and
| ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his paternal |

2 | WHEREAS, Corporal Bryant J. "B.J." Luxmore is survived by | ||||||
3 | his wife, Jaimie; his son, Lane; his parents, Brenda and | ||||||
4 | Leonard; his brother and best friend, Brock Luxmore and his | ||||||
5 | wife, Melissa; his in-laws, Joe and Laurie Lower; his | ||||||
6 | sisters-in-law, Shannon (Scott) Brown, Tricia (Evan) Price, | ||||||
7 | and LeAnn Lower; his brother-in-law, Andrew (Courtney) Lower; | ||||||
8 | his maternal grandparents, William and Marcia Johnson; his | ||||||
9 | paternal grandmother, Donna Jo Luxmore; his wife's maternal | ||||||
10 | grandparents, Jimmie and Patricia Sackville; his wife's | ||||||
11 | paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Kathryn Lower; and his | ||||||
12 | numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; | ||||||

14 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
15 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
16 | his family, friends, and a grateful nation, the passing of | ||||||
17 | Corporal Bryant J. "B.J." Luxmore; and be it further
| ||||||
18 | RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Corporal Bryant J. | ||||||
19 | "B.J." Luxmore and his willingness to serve his country, which | ||||||
20 | led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
| ||||||
21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
22 | presented to the family of Corporal Bryant J. "B.J." Luxmore as |
