2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
Timothy Michael Ash, who passed away on | ||||||
4 | April 19, 2010; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Timothy Ash was born on January 29, 1952; his | ||||||
6 | parents were Mary L. McFarlin and William T. Newell; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Timothy Ash attended Du Sable High School and | ||||||
8 | later graduated from Wayne High School; he then earned an | ||||||
9 | Associate of Science degree from San Diego Mesa College and an | ||||||
10 | Associate of Technology degree from Illinois Technical | ||||||
11 | College; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Timothy Ash served his country with pride and | ||||||
13 | distinction as a member of the United States Navy; after | ||||||
14 | enlisting in 1971, he received schooling and training at the | ||||||
15 | Great Lakes Naval Base and the U.S. Naval Service School in | ||||||
16 | Orlando, Florida; during his tour of duty, he was stationed in | ||||||
17 | Japan as an Advanced Undersea weaponsman and Relations Officer; | ||||||
18 | he was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1975; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Timothy Ash accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior | ||||||
20 | through song in the Junior Choir at the Bethel, M.B. Church in | ||||||
21 | Chicago; he also enjoyed working at the Prince of Peace Church |

2 | WHEREAS, Timothy Ash was preceded in death by his brother, | ||||||
3 | Kenneth Ash; his sister, Marguerite Ash; his grandmother, | ||||||
4 | Louise T. Royston; his grandfathers, Alzada Kendall and Chester | ||||||
5 | Baker; his uncle, Napoleon Ash; his stepfathers, Milton | ||||||
6 | Alexander Sr. and Carver McFarlin; and his father-in-law, John | ||||||
7 | T. Conley; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Timothy Ash is survived by his wife, Joyce | ||||||
9 | Conley-Ash; his daughter, Jessica M. Ash; his parents; his | ||||||
10 | step-father, George Ratliff; his mother-in-law, Gwendolyn J. | ||||||
11 | Conley; his brothers, Timothy W. Ash (Regina), Joseph Ash | ||||||
12 | (Joyce), and Milton Alexander Jr.; his sisters, Jamesetta L. | ||||||
13 | Ash, Louise T. Alexander, and Sharon B. McFarlin; and his many | ||||||
14 | nephews, nieces, and other family members; therefore, be it

15 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
16 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
17 | his family and friends, the passing of Timothy Michael Ash; and | ||||||
18 | be it further

19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
20 | presented to the family of Timothy Ash as an expression of our | ||||||
21 | sympathy.
