SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Joseph W. Franzone of Richmond, who
passed away on July 19, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Franzone was born in Chicago on April 29,
1947 to Sam and Lorraine (Blank) Franzone; he graduated from
Roosevelt High School in Chicago in 1965 and served in the
United States Army as a SP5 from July of 1966 to July of 1968 as
a heavy vehicle driver; he married Debbie Larson on April 11,
1974 in Villa Park; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Franzone worked as a corrections officer at
the McHenry County Sheriffs Department in Woodstock for 17
years, retiring in 2011; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Franzone was a former member of the Italian
American Police Association; he loved fishing, golf, pool, and
trap shooting; he was a member of the National Rifle
Association; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Franzone was preceded in death by his
parents and his sister, Denise Franzone; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Franzone is survived by his wife, Debbie;

his 2 daughters, Sarah Franzone and Elizabeth (Travis)
Rogers-Franzone, and his son, Angelo (Becky) Franzone;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Joseph W. Franzone, and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Joseph Franzone as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
