2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Richard "Rich" Martin of Port Byron, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on December 5, 2023; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Rich Martin was born to Robert and Mildred Martin | ||||||
6 | in Moline on February 13, 1945; he graduated from Moline High | ||||||
7 | School in 1963 and briefly attended Black Hawk College; he | ||||||
8 | served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he married | ||||||
9 | Linda (Frits) Martin in 1969, and they later divorced; he | ||||||
10 | married Donna (Bielema) Martin in 1981; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Rich Martin was employed as a journeyman machine | ||||||
12 | repairman at JD Planter for 37.7 years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Rich Martin was a member of the Quad City's | ||||||
14 | Vintage Rods; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Rich Martin loved his 1937 Ford, which he had for | ||||||
16 | over 50 years; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Rich Martin is survived by his wife; his | ||||||
18 | children, Amie, Drew, and Jody; his grandchildren, Nathan and | ||||||
19 | Melissa; his sister, Diane (Dave) Ballard; his brother, Tom; | ||||||
20 | five nieces; and many friends; therefore, be it
