| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to | ||||||
| 3 | congratulate the Onarga Music Club on the occasion of its | ||||||
| 4 | 100th anniversary; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The Onarga Music Club was founded by 13 women | ||||||
| 6 | from the Onarga area in 1924, and the organization has | ||||||
| 7 | continued every year since then; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, The Onarga Music Club's original purpose was to | ||||||
| 9 | develop the musical talents of its members and to stimulate | ||||||
| 10 | musical culture in the community; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, The Onarga Music Club members continue its | ||||||
| 12 | purpose today through sharing their love of music at nursing | ||||||
| 13 | homes, schools, churches, and community events, encouraging | ||||||
| 14 | children to participate in school music programs, and | ||||||
| 15 | welcoming new members who share their love of music; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, The Onarga Music Club will celebrate its 100th | ||||||
| 17 | anniversary in January 2024; therefore, be it

| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
| 19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the | ||||||
| 20 | Onarga Music Club on achieving its 100th anniversary; and be | ||||||
