SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Edwin "Connell" Watson of Milan, who
4passed away on September 16, 2021; and
5 WHEREAS, Connell Watson was born to Frazier E. and
6Florence A. McConnell Watson in Viola on February 26, 1934; he
7married Jo Ann Kleinau at the First Presbyterian Church in
8Milan on March 16, 1958; he served in the U.S. Army; and
9 WHEREAS, Connell Watson worked for 20 years for John Deere
10Plow and Planter before he started Watson Building and
11Remodeling; he ran his contracting business for nearly 50
12years; and
13 WHEREAS, Connell Watson was a member of the First
14Presbyterian Church in Milan; and
15 WHEREAS, Connell Watson enjoyed taking fishing trips to
16Minnesota and loved to spend time with his family; and
17 WHEREAS, Connell Watson was preceded in death by his
18parents; his infant twin grandchildren, Thomas and Mary
19Katherine Huff; and his siblings, Lillian Watson, Harold
20Watson, Florence Lude, and Roberta Patterson; and

1 WHEREAS, Connell Watson is survived by his wife; his
2children, Laurie J. (Bruce) Knowlton, Craig E. (Lisa) Watson,
3Alice A. (David Huff) Watson, and Paul F. (Lisa) Watson; his
4grandchildren, Claire Knowlton, Andrew Knowlton, Daniel
5Knowlton, Emma Watson, Anna Watson, Nathaniel Huff, Marguerite
6Huff, and Grant Watson; his siblings, Frazier "Bud" (Lois)
7Watson, Ramona (Richard) McMeekan, and Karen Burton; and his
8sister-in-law, Bonnie Watson; therefore, be it
9 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Edwin "Connell" Watson and extend our sincere condolences to
12his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
14 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Connell Watson as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
