2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Paul Duncan Leitch of Memphis, Tennessee, | ||||||
4 | formerly of East Peoria, who passed away on August 12, 2013; | ||||||
5 | and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Paul Leitch was born on June 24, 1950, in Three | ||||||
7 | Rivers, Michigan, to Duncan and Eunice Leitch; he graduated | ||||||
8 | from East Peoria Community High School in 1968; he earned a | ||||||
9 | Bachelor's Degree from Grinnell College in Iowa, a Master's | ||||||
10 | Degree from Florida State University, and a Juris Doctor from | ||||||
11 | the University of Memphis; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Paul Leitch worked in human resources, practiced | ||||||
13 | law, and taught sociology classes; he married Soledad Alip in | ||||||
14 | 1980 while teaching on a United States Naval base in the | ||||||
15 | Philippines; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Paul Leitch enjoyed spending time with his family | ||||||
17 | and pet dogs, reading books, exploring the Memphis Zoo, and | ||||||
18 | attending many softball, soccer, and basketball games; he liked | ||||||
19 | Motown music, running in races, Peeps candy, and often went out | ||||||
20 | in search of gifts for others; and

21 | WHEREAS, Paul Leitch was preceded in death by his mother; |

2 | WHEREAS, Paul Leitch is survived by his wife, Soledad; his | ||||||
3 | children, Duncan Leitch and Sally (Jared) Woodruff; his | ||||||
4 | siblings, State Representative David Leitch, Brian Leitch, and | ||||||
5 | Carol Leitch Fries; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be | ||||||
6 | it

7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
9 | Paul Duncan Leitch, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
10 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
11 | further
| ||||||
12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
13 | presented to the family of Paul Leitch as an expression of our | ||||||
14 | deepest sympathy.
