2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Naomi Grace Tarvin of Bloomington, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on June 9, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin was born in Shirley to John G. and | ||||||
6 | Bertha F. Maupin Muffley on April 8, 1925; she married Richard | ||||||
7 | H. Tarvin in Shirley on August 18, 1945; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin worked for Illinois Soldiers' and | ||||||
9 | Sailors' Children's School until it closed; she later worked | ||||||
10 | for the Department of Public Aid for many years; she retired | ||||||
11 | from the State of Illinois; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin was a longtime member of the Shirley | ||||||
13 | Christian Church, where she enjoyed singing and helping with | ||||||
14 | vacation bible school; in her free time, she loved ceramics, | ||||||
15 | oil painting, and crocheting; for many years, she and her | ||||||
16 | husband wintered in Florida; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin was preceded in death by her husband, | ||||||
18 | Richard; her sisters, Lorraine Muffley and Madelyn Hammers; and | ||||||
19 | her brothers, Oscar, Lester, and John Muffley; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin is survived by her son, John (Sharon) |

1 | Tarvin; her grandchildren, Heather (Travis) Young and Kourtney | ||||||
2 | (Cody) Erbes; her great-grandchildren, Reagan and Davis Young | ||||||

6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Naomi Grace Tarvin and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
8 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
