SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Kevin M. Dolan of Mundelein, who
4passed away on October 7, 2023; and
5 WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan was born in Youngstown, Ohio to John
6and Mary Dolan on July 15, 1957; he attended St. Edwards
7Elementary School and Ursuline High School; he graduated from
8the University of Notre Dame in 1979 with a degree in finance,
9and while in college, he developed a number of lifelong
10friendships; he married Barb Wirtes in 1981; and
11 WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan began working for Abbott Laboratories
12after graduation; he worked there for 33 years, retiring in
132012; while there, he served in a number of finance and
14accounting roles, including vice president and controller for
15TAP Pharmaceuticals and vice president and controller of the
16US Pharmaceutical Division, and enjoyed close friendships with
17many colleagues; and
18 WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan served as Mundelein park district
19commissioner beginning in 1997; during which time, he founded
20the annual Dolan St. Patrick's Day Party; he was a member of
21the school board for the Santa Maria del Popolo School, and
22this experience as an elected official inspired him to seek

1his position with the park district; he also served on the
2board of trustees for the Illinois Association of Park
3Districts (IAPD) and as a former chairman of the IAPD board;
4and
5 WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan loved golf since he was a child,
6which would inspire him to become owner and proprietor of the
7Four Seasons Golf Resort and Tiki Bar; his other
8post-retirement pursuits apart from golfing and abundant
9grilling for folks, included serving on the executive board of
10North Shore Bank and being a silent partner in Our Lord's
11Little Ones Preschool; and
12 WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan was a 3rd degree member of the
13Mundelein chapter of the Knights of Columbus; he coached his
14sons' basketball teams and had played in basketball and
15softball leagues with his friends; he was a Tig Award winner at
16the Bud Bash; above all, he cherished his role as a husband and
17father; and
18 WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan was preceded in death by his parents
19and his brother, Jack Dolan; and
20 WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan is survived by wife, Barb; his
21children, Brian, Maggie, Sean, Kevin, and Meghan; and his
22grandchildren, Maeve, Clare, and Quinn; therefore, be it

2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
