| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of John Edward "Jack" Kelsey of McHenry, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on July 27, 2013; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, John Kelsey was born on July 25, 1928, in Chicago; | ||||||
| 6 | he served his country in the United States Coast Guard; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, John Kelsey worked as a pilot with United Airlines | ||||||
| 8 | for 37 years, retiring in 1988 on his birthday; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, John Kelsey was a member of the McHenry Rotary | ||||||
| 10 | Club for more than 25 years and was active in the Rotary's | ||||||
| 11 | mission to stamp out polio; he was an avid fisherman and | ||||||
| 12 | enjoyed collecting coins and stamps and working with wood; he | ||||||
| 13 | and his wife liked to split their vacation time between Canada | ||||||
| 14 | and their Wisconsin retreat and were members of the Pistakee | ||||||
| 15 | Yacht Club and the McHenry Country Club; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, John Kelsey was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
| 17 | Dorothy "Doe" and by his brothers, Russ and Dave; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, John Kelsey is survived by his daughters, Susan | ||||||
| 19 | Althoff and Meg (Jim) Lane and by his grandchildren, Peter | ||||||
| 20 | Althoff, Megan Althoff, Andy Lane, and Emmie Lane; therefore, | ||||||

| 2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 4 | John Edward "Jack" Kelsey, and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
| 5 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
| 6 | it further
