2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Douglas E. "Doug" Allen of Rock | ||||||
4 | Island, who passed away on September 20, 2023; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Doug Allen was born in Los Angeles, California to | ||||||
6 | Carl T. and Mona M. (Caylor) Allen on January 11, 1941; he | ||||||
7 | served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1961; he married | ||||||
8 | Stephanie "Stevi" Rade in Panama City Beach, Florida on July | ||||||
9 | 23, 1981; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Doug Allen worked for the Los Angeles City Fire | ||||||
11 | Department for 20 years, before retiring as a captain; he then | ||||||
12 | worked as a building inspector for Simi Valley in California; | ||||||
13 | he became a building inspector for the City of Rock Island when | ||||||
14 | he and Stevi moved to the Quad Cities; and

15 | WHEREAS, Doug Allen's hobbies included racquetball, | ||||||
16 | handball, and golf; he enjoyed spending time with his family | ||||||
17 | and keeping up with his grandchildren; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Doug Allen was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
19 | and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Doug Allen is survived by his wife, Stevi; his |

1 | children, Carrie Robinson, Jodi (Tom) Cavanaugh, Brent | ||||||
2 | (Stephanie) Wimmer, Doug Jr. (Amber) Allen, and Jayson (Erin) | ||||||
3 | Wimmer; and his grandchildren, Ciara Cavanaugh, Michael | ||||||
4 | Robinson, Timothy Cavanaugh, Kylie Wimmer, Matthew Allen, Cole | ||||||
