2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Donald Anthony Boeckenstedt of Staunton, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on April 2, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Donald Boeckenstedt was born in Dyersville, Iowa | ||||||
6 | to Arthur Henry and Helen Germaine (Kramer) Boeckenstedt on | ||||||
7 | April 20, 1946;
he graduated from Xavier High School in | ||||||
8 | Dyersville, Iowa in 1964; he married Connie Sue Bollinger at | ||||||
9 | St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Boulder, Colorado on | ||||||
10 | August 19, 1972; he served in the United States Air Force | ||||||
11 | during the Vietnam War and earned his bachelor's degree from | ||||||
12 | the National College of Business in 1980; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Donald Boeckenstedt worked for 30 years in the | ||||||
14 | auto parts manufacturing business in both original and | ||||||
15 | after-market operations; he was the division manager of | ||||||
16 | Echlin-Hydraulics, Inc. in Litchfield from 1987 to 1995 and | ||||||
17 | went on to become senior vice president of manufacturing at | ||||||
18 | Dana Brake Parts, Inc. in McHenry;
he finished out his career | ||||||
19 | as operations manager for Automotive Rebuilders, Inc. in | ||||||
20 | Anaheim, California; and
| ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Donald Boeckenstedt was a member of First | ||||||
22 | Christian Church in Gillespie, the VFW Post 1241 in Staunton, |

1 | and the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr., American Legion Post 11-11 in | ||||||
2 | Broomfield, Colorado; he enjoyed gardening, golfing, and was | ||||||
3 | well-known for his cooking and outdoor grilling skills; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Donald Boeckenstedt was preceded in death by his | ||||||
5 | parents; and his sisters, Mary Lou Foxen and Doris Jean | ||||||
6 | Boeckenstedt; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Donald Boeckenstedt is survived by his wife, | ||||||
8 | Connie; his son, Kevin (Julie) Boeckenstedt; his daughter, Kara | ||||||
9 | Sue Boeckenstedt; his brothers, Richard (Judy) Boeckenstedt, | ||||||
10 | Thomas (Joan) Boeckenstedt, and Frank (Marlene) Boeckenstedt; | ||||||
11 | his sisters, Ann Reinert, Rosemary Weber, Nancy (David) Feltes, | ||||||
12 | and Debbie (Thomas) Rubner; and his grandchildren, Ryan | ||||||
13 | Boeckenstedt, Justin Boeckenstedt, and Zoe Boeckenstedt; | ||||||
14 | therefore, be it

15 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
16 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
17 | Donald Anthony Boeckenstedt of Staunton, and extend our sincere | ||||||
18 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
19 | him; and be it further

20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
21 | presented to the family of Donald Boeckenstedt as an expression | ||||||
22 | of our deepest sympathy.
