| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Allan G. Mueller of Urbana, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on March 15, 2019; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Allan Mueller was born in Taylor Ridge on November | ||||||
| 6 | 17, 1923; he studied at the University of Illinois in | ||||||
| 7 | Urbana-Champaign, where he met his wife, Gloria, whom he | ||||||
| 8 | married in 1947; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Allan Mueller was a professor of agricultural | ||||||
| 10 | economics at the University of Illinois; he loved teaching and | ||||||
| 11 | interacting with his students; he was particularly proud of | ||||||
| 12 | developing a popular Ag Business Organization and Accounting | ||||||
| 13 | course that he taught for 15 years; he did extensive Extension | ||||||
| 14 | work, developed farm record systems, taught courses, and | ||||||
| 15 | mentored more than 25 graduate students until his retirement in | ||||||
| 16 | 1984; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Allan Mueller, along with his wife, continued his | ||||||
| 18 | involvement with the Ag Department by providing scholarship | ||||||
| 19 | money for incoming students who plan to study agriculture; he | ||||||
| 20 | was involved with Nabor House Fraternity, of which he was a | ||||||
| 21 | founding member as a student in the 1940s; during his career | ||||||
| 22 | and in retirement, he traveled extensively with his wife; they | ||||||

| 1 | visited Australia, Ireland, England, and Canada, attended | ||||||
| 2 | Elder Hostel programs, and made two visits to South Africa | ||||||
| 3 | while he was on sabbatical from the university; he enjoyed | ||||||
| 4 | woodworking, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his | ||||||
| 5 | family; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Allan Mueller was preceded in death by his wife of | ||||||
| 7 | 64 years, Gloria; and his son, Ross Allan Mueller; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Allan Mueller is survived by his daughter, Becky | ||||||
| 9 | (Thomas) Musch; and his daughter-in-law, Barbara Mueller; | ||||||
| 10 | therefore, be it

| 11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 13 | Allan G. Mueller and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 14 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 15 | further

| 16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 17 | presented to the family of Allan Mueller as an expression of | ||||||
| 18 | our deepest sympathy.
