2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
United States Army Specialist Michael | ||||||
4 | Vukovich of Crystal Lake, who passed away on September 30, | ||||||
5 | 2011; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, SPC Michael Vukovich was born on November 19, | ||||||
7 | 1988, in Elk Grove; his parents are Jon and Carrie Vukovich; | ||||||
8 | and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, SPC Michael Vukovich served his country with pride | ||||||
10 | and distinction as a member of the United States Army from | ||||||
11 | April 22, 2009 until his passing; he served as a combat | ||||||
12 | engineer and was responsible for locating roadside bombs; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Shortly after his return from Afghanistan, SPC | ||||||
14 | Michael Vukovich was diagnosed with cancer; after receiving | ||||||
15 | medical treatment at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington | ||||||
16 | D.C., he and his wife transferred back to Chicago to continue | ||||||
17 | his treatment and be surrounded by the love of his family and | ||||||
18 | friends; and

19 | WHEREAS, SPC Michael Vukovich is survived by his loving | ||||||
20 | wife, Alison "Alie" Vukovich; his brother, Matthew Vukovich; | ||||||
21 | his sister, Lauren Vukovich; his parents; his grandparents, |

1 | Richard and Deanna Moore; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, | ||||||
2 | Bob and Nancy Cole; and his brother-in-law, Cory (Sylvia) | ||||||
3 | Smith; and

4 | WHEREAS, SPC Michael Vukovich's patriotism and courage | ||||||
5 | will be remembered fondly by his loving family, his fellow | ||||||
6 | soldiers, and the citizens of our grateful nation; therefore, | ||||||
7 | be it

8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
10 | his family and friends, the passing of United States Army | ||||||
11 | Specialist Michael Vukovich; and be it further

12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
13 | presented to the family of SPC Michael Vukovich as an | ||||||
