2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Charles Lee Curry of Moline, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on May 6, 2021; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Charles Curry was born in Mexico, Missouri to | ||||||
6 | Harold and Laveta Goe Curry on December 30, 1945; he graduated | ||||||
7 | from Mexico High School; he received his Bachelor of Science | ||||||
8 | in Physical Therapy from the University of Missouri; he earned | ||||||
9 | his Master of Arts in Physical Therapy from the University of | ||||||
10 | Southern California; he married Mary Lynn Chilton in | ||||||
11 | Florissant, Missouri on March 29, 1969; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Charles Curry served in the U.S. Air Force until | ||||||
13 | he retired in 1989; he then worked at Cornell University in | ||||||
14 | Ithaca, New York, and he retired in 2004; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Charles Curry was a member of First | ||||||
16 | Congregational Church and a longtime community volunteer at | ||||||
17 | World Relief; he was a member of the Quad Cities Bicycle Club | ||||||
18 | and had a lifetime of cycling friendships and experiences; he | ||||||
19 | was a passionate train enthusiast; he loved baseball and | ||||||
20 | basketball; and

21 | WHEREAS, Charles Curry was preceded in death by his |

| |||||||
1 | parents and his sister, Mary Ellen; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Charles Curry is survived by his wife of over 52 | ||||||
3 | years, Mary; his daughter, Anna Curry (Joshua Wick); and his | ||||||
4 | granddaughter, Jane Callender; therefore, be it
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Charles Lee Curry and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
8 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
9 | further
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Charles Curry as an expression of | ||||||
12 | our deepest sympathy.
