SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Cynthia Charise Brown, who passed away on
4 April 13, 2009; and
5 WHEREAS, Cynthia Brown was born on August 9, 1973 in
6 Chicago; her parents were Steve and Grace Brown; and
7 WHEREAS, Cynthia Brown accepted Christ at an early age
8 under the leadership of Pastor Willie B. Jemison at Oakdale
9 Covenant Church, where she served as a member of the Youth
10 Choir and Adult Choir; and
11 WHEREAS, Cynthia Brown graduated from Orr Academy High
12 School in 1992; she was employed with the Williams Lea Law
13 Firm; and
14 WHEREAS, Cynthia Brown is survived by her parents; her
15 brothers, Steve Anthony Jr. and Fredrick LaRon; her
16 grandmother, Willie Mae Brooks; her nieces, Tiara and Kya; her
17 nephews, KeJuan and DeJuan; her loving fiance, Timothy Stokes;
18 and her many other relatives and friends; and
19 WHEREAS, Cynthia Brown will be remembered by all who knew
20 and loved her as a fun-loving young woman whose friendly nature

1 and ever-present smile endeared her to everyone she met;
2 therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5 her family and friends, the passing of Cynthia Charise Brown;
6 and be it further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the family of Cynthia Brown as an expression of
9 our sympathy.
