| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Patrice M. Johannes of Palatine, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on April 16, 2021; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Patrice Johannes was born in Highland Park to | ||||||
6 | Raymond and Marguerite (Steffen) Sheahen on January 25, 1945; | ||||||
7 | and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Patrice Johannes was a career educator and was | ||||||
9 | the principal of Buffalo Grove High School at the time of her | ||||||
10 | retirement in 2008; previously, she was the principal at St. | ||||||
11 | Viator High School in Arlington Heights, assistant principal | ||||||
12 | of Rosati-Kain High School in St. Louis, Missouri, counselor | ||||||
13 | at Edwardsville High School in Edwardsville, and a teacher at | ||||||
14 | St. Paul High School in Highland; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Patrice Johannes was a devoted and active member | ||||||
16 | of the Rotary of Buffalo Grove; she went on a service trip with | ||||||
17 | the club to Ak' tenamit in Guatemala and served as chair of the | ||||||
18 | scholarship committee; she was always willing to help at | ||||||
19 | events; she also volunteered at the Little Sisters of the Poor | ||||||
20 | in Palatine; she will be remembered as someone who always gave | ||||||
21 | of herself to others, both during her long career in education | ||||||
22 | and through her volunteer work; and

1 | WHEREAS, Patrice Johannes was preceded in death by her | ||||||
2 | daughter, Lisa Marie Burnett; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Patrice Johannes is survived by her children, | ||||||
4 | Donald (Holly) Johannes Jr., Peggy (Matt) Jacober, and Andrew | ||||||
5 | (Michele) Johannes; her grandchildren, Jenna, Kaitlin, Jake, | ||||||
6 | Colin, Liam, Dylan, and Mark; and her sisters, Virginia | ||||||
7 | Quillinan, Mary Murray, Barbara Spitzer, and Anita Page; | ||||||
8 | therefore, be it

9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
11 | Patrice M. Johannes and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
12 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
13 | further
