2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
Charles Hansen of McHenry, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on April 18, 2009; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Charles Hansen was born on January 30, 1927 in | ||||||
6 | Chicago; his parents were Thorleif Arloff and Ella Dorthong | ||||||
7 | (Kummerow) Hansen; he married Barbara Ann Simon on June 25, | ||||||
8 | 1955 in McHenry; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Charles Hansen served his country with pride and | ||||||
10 | distinction as a member of the United States Navy during World | ||||||
11 | War II; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Charles Hansen was a member of St. Mary of the | ||||||
13 | Assumption Catholic Church of McHenry, the V.F.W., and the | ||||||
14 | N.C.O.F. No. 594; he enjoyed camping, fishing, and woodcarving; | ||||||
15 | and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Charles Hansen was well known in his community as | ||||||
17 | the singing bartender at Hettermans in Johnsburg and as a | ||||||
18 | sponsor for many people through Alcoholics Anonymous; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Charles Hansen was preceded in death by his | ||||||
20 | parents; his brother, Fredrick "Bud" Hansen; and his sisters, |

1 | Thora D. Hansen and Lois M. Heyer; and

2 | WHEREAS, Charles Hansen is survived by his wife; his | ||||||
3 | children, Alyson (Benjamin) DeCicco, Annette (Bill) | ||||||
4 | Cunningham, Paula (Jim) Weber, and Herbert (Michelle) Hansen; | ||||||
5 | his grandchildren, Andrew Charles Hansen, Vincent Anthony | ||||||
6 | DeCicco, Patrick Guytano DeCicco, Kristy Lynn Cunningham, Klye | ||||||
7 | James Weber, Pamela Marie Weber, Nicholas James Weber, Melissa | ||||||
8 | Marie Weber, Jacob James Weber, Mathew Christian Hansen, and | ||||||
9 | Nathan Joseph Hansen; his brother, Robert Evert (Marg) Hansen; | ||||||
10 | and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
13 | his family and friends, the passing of Charles Hansen; and be | ||||||
14 | it further
