2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Cyril Henry Goetten of Jerseyville, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on July 25, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten was born in Fieldon on July 5, 1917 | ||||||
6 | to Anthony and Elizabeth (nee Beiermann) Goetten; he married | ||||||
7 | Margaret C. Pohlman in Carrollton on June 14, 1950; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten was employed at Olin Corp. for 42 | ||||||
9 | years, but was a farmer at heart; he began farming as a young | ||||||
10 | boy and continued to do what he loved until retiring at the age | ||||||
11 | of 94; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten was a dedicated member of the Holy | ||||||
13 | Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville; he was also a member of | ||||||
14 | the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 492, and the VFW, | ||||||
15 | all in Jerseyville; and

16 | WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
17 | and his 2 sisters, Bernadine Huebener and Genevieve Goetten; | ||||||
18 | and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten is survived by his wife of 64 years, | ||||||
20 | Margaret; his 3 sons and daughters-in-law, John and Connie |

2 | Goetten; his 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Chad and Lynn | ||||||

7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Cyril Henry Goetten, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
9 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
10 | further

11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to the family of Cyril Goetten as an expression of | ||||||
13 | our deepest sympathy.
