| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Lynn Ann Leach of Rochester, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on March 26, 2023; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Lynn Leach was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Jerome | ||||||
6 | and Joan Feeney on November 15, 1970; she lived in Council | ||||||
7 | Bluffs and graduated from Lewis Central Senior High School in | ||||||
8 | 1989; she studied education at Iowa State University; she | ||||||
9 | married Brent Leach on November 3, 2012; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Lynn Leach started her first job at Mattoon High | ||||||
11 | School; she began her lifelong career as an English teacher at | ||||||
12 | Rochester High School in the fall of 1999; her passion for | ||||||
13 | education and her unwavering work ethic had an impact on | ||||||
14 | countless students and educators; and

15 | WHEREAS, Lynn Leach and Brent loved being together, | ||||||
16 | whether they were sitting in their backyard oasis with friends | ||||||
17 | and family, watching their children's activities, or exploring | ||||||
18 | local restaurants; her greatest accomplishment in life was | ||||||
19 | being mom to Cam and Mal; anyone who knew her could see her | ||||||
20 | immense love for and pride in her children; she and her family | ||||||
21 | loved to travel and had a dream vacation to Hawaii last summer, | ||||||
22 | where they were able to make lasting memories; and

1 | WHEREAS, Lynn Leach was preceded in death by her maternal | ||||||
2 | grandparents, Clayton and Mary Daniel; her paternal | ||||||
3 | grandparents, Michael and Madeline Feeney; and her father-in | ||||||
4 | law, Gary Leach; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Lynn Leach is survived by her husband, Brent | ||||||
6 | Leach; her son, Cameron "Cam" Fairbanks; her daughter, Mallory | ||||||
7 | "Mal" Fairbanks; her parents; her siblings, Michael (Emma) | ||||||
8 | Feeney, Jeff Feeney, Todd (Jenny) Feeney, Eric (Kristen) | ||||||
9 | Feeney, Alan (Lisa) Feeney, and Amie (Jeff) Wahl; her | ||||||
10 | mother-in-law, Connie Leach; and many brothers-in-law, | ||||||
11 | sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it

12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
14 | Lynn Ann Leach and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
15 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
16 | further
