2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Timothy J. Newlin of Peoria, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on March 24, 2023; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Timothy Newlin was born to Jackson and Joyce | ||||||
6 | (Allenbach) Newlin in Peoria on December 2, 1952; he was | ||||||
7 | raised and educated in Peoria, graduating from Peoria High | ||||||
8 | School in 1970; he attended Southern Methodist University, | ||||||
9 | where he obtained both his undergraduate degree and his law | ||||||
10 | degree; he married Lori A. Sheppard at St. Mary's Cathedral in | ||||||
11 | Peoria on December 20, 1985; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Timothy Newlin worked as an attorney specializing | ||||||
13 | in worker's compensation in Peoria for more than 42 years; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Timothy Newlin was an active member of numerous | ||||||
15 | organizations within the Peoria community and a devout man of | ||||||
16 | faith; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Timothy Newlin enjoyed watching the St. Louis | ||||||
18 | Cardinals, swimming, golfing, going on long walks, and | ||||||
19 | spending time with his family and friends; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Timothy Newlin was preceded in death by his |

2 | WHEREAS, Timothy Newlin is survived by his wife of 37 | ||||||
3 | years, Lori; his children, Tim (Sunyoung) Newlin, Joel Newlin, | ||||||
4 | Zack Newlin, and Libby (Michael) Bono; his grandchildren, | ||||||
5 | Henry, Andrew, and Jude Newlin; his sister, Jean | ||||||
6 | Newlin-Schnake; his two brothers-in-law; his two | ||||||
7 | sisters-in-law; and his numerous nieces and nephews; | ||||||
8 | therefore, be it

9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
11 | Timothy J. Newlin and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
12 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
13 | further

14 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
15 | presented to the family of Timothy Newlin as an expression of | ||||||
16 | our deepest sympathy.
