SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Timothy J. Newlin of Peoria, who
4passed away on March 24, 2023; and
5 WHEREAS, Timothy Newlin was born to Jackson and Joyce
6(Allenbach) Newlin in Peoria on December 2, 1952; he was
7raised and educated in Peoria, graduating from Peoria High
8School in 1970; he attended Southern Methodist University,
9where he obtained both his undergraduate degree and his law
10degree; he married Lori A. Sheppard at St. Mary's Cathedral in
11Peoria on December 20, 1985; and
12 WHEREAS, Timothy Newlin worked as an attorney specializing
13in worker's compensation in Peoria for more than 42 years; and
14 WHEREAS, Timothy Newlin was an active member of numerous
15organizations within the Peoria community and a devout man of
16faith; and
17 WHEREAS, Timothy Newlin enjoyed watching the St. Louis
18Cardinals, swimming, golfing, going on long walks, and
19spending time with his family and friends; and
20 WHEREAS, Timothy Newlin was preceded in death by his

1parents; and
2 WHEREAS, Timothy Newlin is survived by his wife of 37
3years, Lori; his children, Tim (Sunyoung) Newlin, Joel Newlin,
4Zack Newlin, and Libby (Michael) Bono; his grandchildren,
5Henry, Andrew, and Jude Newlin; his sister, Jean
6Newlin-Schnake; his two brothers-in-law; his two
7sisters-in-law; and his numerous nieces and nephews;
8therefore, be it
9 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Timothy J. Newlin and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
14 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Timothy Newlin as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
