| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Marilyn J. Standley of Springfield, | ||||||
| 4 | who passed away on March 3, 2023; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Standley was born to Earl J. and Rhoda | ||||||
| 6 | Mae (Dowdell) McMillen in Taylorville on August 30, 1952; she | ||||||
| 7 | graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1970 and went on to | ||||||
| 8 | graduate from Hardin Business School; she later earned | ||||||
| 9 | continuing education credits in accounting at Lincoln Land | ||||||
| 10 | Community College; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Standley worked as a bookkeeper in the | ||||||
| 12 | Jacksonville City Clerk's Office for many years; she later | ||||||
| 13 | worked as a claims processor, service representative, and | ||||||
| 14 | trainer for BlueCross BlueShield; she moved to Springfield to | ||||||
| 15 | work for the Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) in 2011, | ||||||
| 16 | where she worked until her passing; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Standley was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 18 | parents and her sister, Diana Ahrens; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Standley is survived by her ex-husband, | ||||||
| 20 | Edward Standley; her sons, Michael (Joy) Standley and David | ||||||
| 21 | (April) Standley; her grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Joshua, | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Henry, and Ella Standley; and her sister, Marsha (Chuck) | ||||||
| 2 | Norris; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
| 4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| ||||||
| 5 | Marilyn J. Standley and extend our sincere
condolences to her | ||||||
| 6 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
her; and be it | ||||||
