| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Daniel Wilford Edmonds Jr. of Ozark, | ||||||
| 4 | who passed away on December 9, 2024; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds was born to Daniel Sr. and Donna | ||||||
| 6 | (Brown) Edmonds on July 22, 1946; he graduated from Flora | ||||||
| 7 | Township High School in 1964; after attending Southern | ||||||
| 8 | Illinois University Carbondale, he joined the U.S. Air Force, | ||||||
| 9 | serving his country during the Vietnam War for four years; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, After his service, Dan Edmonds worked for the | ||||||
| 11 | Veterans' Administration for 22 years until his retirement; | ||||||
| 12 | and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds was a member of several groups, | ||||||
| 14 | including the Coon Creek Ridge Riders, the Marion Elks Lodge, | ||||||
| 15 | and the American Legion; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds was an avid bowler, often hitting the | ||||||
| 17 | lanes up to four times a week and belonging to several bowling | ||||||
| 18 | leagues, and he was a fan of the Washington Nationals baseball | ||||||
| 19 | team; his interests also included fishing, horses, and most | ||||||
| 20 | importantly, his grandchildren; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
| 2 | his niece, Lindsey West; his nephew, Jeff Kingery; his bonus | ||||||
| 3 | grandson, Dayne Harrison; and several aunts, uncles, and | ||||||
| 4 | cousins; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds is survived by his children, Angela | ||||||
| 6 | (Mark Skivers) Edmonds, Felicia (Jason) Miller, and Anita | ||||||
| 7 | Edmonds; his sister, Mary (James) West; his nephew, Rob West; | ||||||
| 8 | two grandchildren; two bonus grandsons; one bonus | ||||||
| 9 | granddaughter; two great-nephews; several cousins; and many | ||||||
| 10 | special friends, including Judy Thomas; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 13 | Daniel Wilford "Dan" Edmonds Jr. and extend our sincere | ||||||
| 14 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
| 15 | him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 17 | presented to the family of Dan Edmonds as an expression of our | ||||||
| 18 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
