2 | WHEREAS, The Members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Dominick T. Cap of Joliet, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on January 6, 2017 at the age of 64; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, After graduating Joliet Catholic Academy in 1970, | ||||||
6 | Dominick Cap served in the United States Navy as an AWI with | ||||||
7 | squadron VP-60 Cobras; he worked at Caterpillar as a machinist; | ||||||
8 | and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Dominick Cap was a proud member of the South Side | ||||||
10 | Civic Club (SSCC), Moran A.C., Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #300, | ||||||
11 | Associated Clubs of Will County, and the Illinois State Rifle | ||||||
12 | Association; he was a founding member and past president of | ||||||
13 | American Legion Riders Chapter 1080, and a member/former | ||||||
14 | Commander (2001), and Chaplin (2003-2010) of the American | ||||||
15 | Legion Post #1080; and

16 | WHEREAS, Dominick Cap served as secretary with the Maverick | ||||||
17 | Bowling League at Town & Country for 18 years; he was a donor | ||||||
18 | for the past 22 years to the Heartland Blood Center; for the | ||||||
19 | last six years, he participated in the American Legion Legacy | ||||||
20 | Run, the largest multi-state, multi-day, cross-country | ||||||
21 | motorcycle event supporting national fundraising providing | ||||||
22 | educational assistance to the children of those who died while |

1 | on active service; he was also a member of the Patriot Guard; | ||||||
2 | and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Dominick Cap was an avid fan of the Chicago White | ||||||
4 | Sox and Blackhawks; he also enjoyed golf, especially the SSCC | ||||||
5 | annual "Dan O'Leary" golf outing with Wags, George, and Kaz; he | ||||||
6 | enjoyed camping, bicycling, and spending time at the range with | ||||||
7 | George and Ryan; he loved spending time with family especially | ||||||
8 | his grandson Lyric; he will be remembered for his infectious | ||||||
9 | smile and hardy laugh; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Dominick Cap was preceded in death by his parents, | ||||||
11 | John and Rose (Filipowski) Cap; his sister, Jeanette Stanford; | ||||||
12 | and his brothers in infancy, Chester, Andrew, and Mark Cap; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Dominick Cap is survived by his loving wife, | ||||||
14 | Andrea (Sinchak); his children Laurel Cap and Daniel (Amy) Cap; | ||||||
15 | his grandson Lyric Cap; his brothers John (Sandy), Al (the late | ||||||
16 | Linda), Tony (Nancy), Matt (Maria), and Dave (Christine) Cap; | ||||||
17 | numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friend Al Gernenz | ||||||
18 | along with his wife Annie, and son, John; therefore, be it
| ||||||
19 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
20 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
21 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Dominick T. Cap, and | ||||||
22 | extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all |

1 | who knew and loved him; and be it further

2 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
3 | presented to the family of Dominick Cap as an expression of our | ||||||
