2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Louis E. Hazelwood of Jerseyville, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on January 11, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Louis Hazelwood was born in Jacksonville to Edward | ||||||
6 | and Velma Reveal Hazelwood on March 5, 1938; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | Jacksonville High School in 1956 and served in the United | ||||||
8 | States Air Force from 1956 to 1960; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Louis Hazelwood worked at Oscar Mayer in | ||||||
10 | Beardstown for several years before purchasing the Kampsville | ||||||
11 | Inn in 1984, where he dedicated the next 32 years of his life; | ||||||
12 | he was a previous owner of the Boatel in Naples; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Louis Hazelwood enjoyed collecting coins, boating | ||||||
14 | on the river with his family and friends, and spending time at | ||||||
15 | his condo in Florida; most of all he enjoyed spending time with | ||||||
16 | his family; he loved his dogs, Lulu and Coco; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Louis Hazelwood was preceded in death by his | ||||||
18 | parents; his infant brother, Larry Hazelwood; and his sister, | ||||||
19 | Wanda Prather; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Louis Hazelwood is survived by his companion of 36 |

1 | years, Betty Kuhlman; his daughters, Leslie (Levi) Rogers, and | ||||||
2 | Tracy (Richard) Hatfield; his sons, Noel (Katya) Hazelwood, and | ||||||
3 | Todd (Kathy) Hazelwood; Betty's children, David Kuhlman, Scott | ||||||
4 | Kuhlman, and Terry (Thelma) Kuhlman; his grandchildren, Megan | ||||||
5 | and Zach Hatfield, Caitlyn, Emily, and Carlton Hazelwood, | ||||||
6 | Makenzie Hazelwood, and Tiffany, Dillon, and Chris Kuhlman; | ||||||
7 | four great-grandchildren; his niece, Mary (Charlie) Freeman; | ||||||
8 | and his nephew, Larry (Amy) Prather; therefore, be it

9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
11 | Louis E. Hazelwood, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
12 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
