2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Ronald A. Oppedisano, who passed away on | ||||||
4 | January 8, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano was born to Norma
and August | ||||||
6 | "Gus" Oppedisano on December 14, 1955; his family settled in | ||||||
7 | Norridge in 1961; he earned his bachelor's degree in urban | ||||||
8 | planning and environmental studies from Northeastern Illinois | ||||||
9 | University and married Linda Valentino in 1982; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano worked for Cook
County Assessor | ||||||
11 | Thomas C. Hynes; he worked his way up to various director
and | ||||||
12 | supervisory positions; eventually, he
earned his MAI | ||||||
13 | designation from the Appraisal Institute and left the
Cook | ||||||
14 | County Assessor's office; he
founded Disano Appraisal | ||||||
15 | Consultants in 1992; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano began his public service career | ||||||
17 | in 1991 as a member, and later chairman, of the Norridge
Zoning | ||||||
18 | Board of Appeals; he was appointed to serve as a Village | ||||||
19 | Trustee in 1998 and was elected
in 1999, 2003, and 2007; as a | ||||||
20 | Village Trustee, he served as Chairman of
some of the most | ||||||
21 | important committees; and

1 | WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano was elected to the office of | ||||||
2 | Norridge Village President in 2009; he worked to bring in many | ||||||
3 | millions of dollars in grant money and to formulate and adopt a | ||||||
4 | new
comprehensive plan for the village; he created the "Green | ||||||
5 | Team" to expand environmental
awareness and began the Norridge | ||||||
6 | farmers market; he also served on the executive
committee of | ||||||
7 | the West Central Municipal Conference; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano was preceded in death by his | ||||||
9 | parents, and his father-in-law, Richard Valentino; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano is survived by his wife, Linda; | ||||||
11 | his children, Tena (Brian) McCullough, Lisa (James) Gannon, and | ||||||
12 | Vincent Oppedisano; his grandchildren, Lia, Jack, Joseph, and | ||||||
13 | Lyla; his mother-in-law, Rita Valentino; his brother-in-law, | ||||||
14 | Anthony (Gail) and his sister-in-law, Michele Valentino; and | ||||||
15 | many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
18 | Ronald A. Oppedisano, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
19 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
20 | further
| ||||||
21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
22 | presented to the family of Ronald Oppedisano as an expression |
