Bill Title: Amends the Medical Practice Act of 1987. Notwithstanding any other provision of the Act, provides that a person's license under the Act shall be deemed suspended by operation of law upon the filing of an indictment, complaint, or information that charges the person with a violent or sexual crime. Provides that the license shall remain suspended until the criminal proceedings have concluded. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning professional regulation.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by
adding Section 22.7 as follows:
(5 ILCS 5/22.7 new)
Sec. 22.7. Suspension of license for violent or sexual
crime. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, a
person's license under this Act shall be deemed suspended by
operation of law upon the filing of an indictment, complaint,
or information that charges the person with a violent or sexual
crime. The license shall remain suspended until the criminal
proceedings have concluded.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
