Bill Title: Amends the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor, and Locksmith Act of 2004. Provides that no licensee shall contract with any non-home rule municipality for the provision of auxiliary police services. Further provides that a licensee may contract with a home rule municipality for the provision of auxiliary police services, provided that each employee who is to act as an auxiliary police officer under the contract is properly appointed by the municipality and has met certain training requirements. Provides that an employee serving as an auxiliary police officer shall perform only those duties provided by the Illinois Municipal Code and shall, at all times during his or her service, comply with all other requirements of the Code.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

6 | amended by adding Section 10-31 as follows:

8 | Sec. 10-31. Contracts for auxiliary police services. No | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | licensee shall contract with any non-home rule municipality for | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | the provision of auxiliary police services under Section | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | 3.1-30-20 of the Illinois Municipal Code. A licensee may | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | contract with a home rule municipality for the provision of | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | auxiliary police services, provided that each employee who is | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | to act as an auxiliary police officer under the contract is | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | properly appointed by the municipality and has met the training | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | requirements of Section 3.1-30-20 of the Illinois Municipal | |||||||||||||||||||
17 | Code at the time he or she begins performance of auxiliary | |||||||||||||||||||
18 | police duties. An employee serving as an auxiliary police | |||||||||||||||||||
19 | officer shall perform only those duties provided by Section | |||||||||||||||||||
20 | 3.1-30-20 of the Illinois Municipal Code and shall comply with | |||||||||||||||||||
21 | all other requirements of Section 3.1-30-20 and of the Illinois | |||||||||||||||||||
22 | Municipal Code.
