55 ILCS 5/2-1003.5 new

Amends the Counties Code. 1 AN ACT concerning local government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section
52-1003.5 as follows:
6 (55 ILCS 5/2-1003.5 new)
7 Sec. 2-1003.5. Creation of standing committees by
8chairman; appointment of members. With the advice and consent
9of a majority of the county board, a county board chairman
10elected by the voters of the county shall: (1) create standing
11committees; and (2) appoint members and chairpersons to
12standing committees. This Section applies to counties having a
13population between 300,000 and 1,000,000.
