Bill Title: Amends the Counties Code. Provides that a county with a population of less than 1,000,000 may establish minimum requirements for new building design and construction to lessen the risks caused by new building design and construction to wildlife and sensitive habitats. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning local government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section
55-1064.5 as follows:
6 (55 ILCS 5/5-1064.5 new)
7 Sec. 5-1064.5. Wildlife and sensitive habitat risk in
8counties of less than 1,000,000 population. The county board
9of a county with a population of less than 1,000,000 may
10establish minimum requirements for new building design and
11construction to lessen the risks caused by new building design
12and construction to wildlife and sensitive habitats.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14becoming law.
