1 | AN ACT concerning safety.
| |||||||||||||||||||
2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | adding Section 9.12a as follows:

6 | (415 ILCS 5/9.12a new) | |||||||||||||||||||
7 | Sec. 9.12a. Notice. When a permit for a new facility is | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | required by this Title II, the Agency shall provide notice: (i) | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | by certified or registered mail or, upon request, | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | electronically, to the State Senator and State Representative | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | of the district where the facility will be located; and (ii) to | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | the public via a posting on its website in a format that is | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | searchable by zip code. Within 6 months after the effective | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | date of this amendatory Act of the 101st General Assembly, the | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | Agency shall adopt rules to implement this Section.
