AN ACT concerning local government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Act
is amended by changing Section 11.15 as follows:
(70 ILCS 2605/11.15) (from Ch. 42, par. 331.15)
Sec. 11.15. No person shall be employed upon contracts for
work to be done by any such sanitary district unless he is a
citizen of the United States, a national of the United States
under Section 1401 of Title 8 of the United States Code, an
alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence under Section
1101 of Title 8 of the United States Code, or an individual who
has been granted asylum under Section 1158 of Title 8 of the
United States Code or has in good faith declared his intention
to become such a citizen. In all cases where an alien after
filing his declaration of intention to become a citizen of the
United States, shall for the space of three months after he
could lawfully do so, fail to take out his final papers and
obtain his citizenship such failure shall be prima facie
evidence that his declaration of intention was not made in good
faith.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
