AN ACT concerning regulation.
| ||||
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||
represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||
Section 5. The Elevator Safety and Regulation Act is | ||||
amended by changing Section 50 as follows:
| ||||

(Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2023)
| ||||
Sec. 50. Qualifications for elevator inspector's license.
| ||||
(a) No inspector's license shall be granted to any person | ||||
who has not paid
the
required application fee.
| ||||
(b) No inspector's license shall be granted to any person, | ||||
unless he or she has been certified as meeting the requirements | ||||
of ASME QEI-1 by a nationally or internationally recognized | ||||
independent organization concerned with personnel | ||||
certification he or she
proves
to the satisfaction of the | ||||
Administrator that he or she meets the current ASME
QEI-1,

Standards for the Qualifications of Elevator Inspectors.
