AN ACT concerning education.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections
10-20.73 and 34-18.67 as follows:
(105 ILCS 5/10-20.73 new)
Sec. 10-20.73. Parental notice of employee under
investigation. The school board shall notify the parent or
guardian of each student enrolled in the school district if a
school employee is under investigation by school authorities
or by law enforcement for an offense listed in Section 21B-80
of this Code. The school board must notify the parent or
guardian of each student within 5 days after receiving notice
of the investigation concerning the school employee.

investigation. The board shall notify the parent or guardian
of each student enrolled in the school district if a school
employee is under investigation by school authorities or by
law enforcement for an offense listed in Section 21B-80 of
