2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Chicago | ||||||
4 | Baptist Institute as they host their 29th Annual Banquet on | ||||||
5 | October 25, 2010; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Chicago Baptist Institute was organized in 1934, | ||||||
7 | under the united sponsorship of the Chicago Baptist | ||||||
8 | Association, the American Baptist Publication Society, the | ||||||
9 | American Baptist Home Mission, and Black Baptist Pastors and | ||||||
10 | Churches of Chicago; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, The Annual Banquet is the major fundraiser for the | ||||||
12 | Institute; the money raised goes towards scholarships, the | ||||||
13 | daily operations of the school, staff salaries, building | ||||||
14 | maintenance, and maintaining low-cost, affordable tuition; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, The President of Chicago Baptist Institute is Dr. | ||||||
16 | Clifford Tyler; Chairman of the Board of Trustees is Dr. J.B. | ||||||
17 | Felker; the Banquet Coordinator is Dr. Lena M. Saunders; and | ||||||
18 | the Sheila Tyler-Smith serves as the person handling the | ||||||
19 | Banquet ad book; therefore, be it

20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
21 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |

1 | congratulate the men and women of the Chicago Baptist Institute | ||||||
2 | on the occasion of the 29th Annual Banquet and wish them | ||||||
3 | continued success in the future; and be it further

4 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
5 | presented to Dr. Clifford Tyler as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
6 | esteem.
