2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of United | ||||||
4 | States Air Force Sergeant Jeremie James Kobler, who passed away | ||||||
5 | on September 26, 2012; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Sgt. Jeremie Kobler was born on November 10, 1973; | ||||||
7 | his parents were David and Linda Kobler; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, From a very early age, Sgt. Jeremie Kobler felt | ||||||
9 | called to serve; he was a member of the Cub Scouts and the Boy | ||||||
10 | Scouts; he graduated from Auburn High School in 1991 and | ||||||
11 | attended Rock Valley College; he later completed his education | ||||||
12 | in the military; and

13 | WHEREAS, Sgt. Jeremie Kobler joined the Winnebago County | ||||||
14 | Sheriff's Department as a corrections officer in 1995, rising | ||||||
15 | to the rank of staff sergeant; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Sgt. Jeremie Kobler served in the United States | ||||||
17 | Air Force Security Police Forces on active duty and reserve | ||||||
18 | duty for 17 years, rising to the rank of technical sergeant at | ||||||
19 | Scott Air Force Base; he deployed to three active-duty | ||||||
20 | rotations to the Middle East and one each in Turkey and | ||||||
21 | Albania; and

1 | WHEREAS, Sgt. Jeremie Kobler distinguished himself by his | ||||||
2 | devotion to duty and was awarded six medals for outstanding | ||||||
3 | service in time of war, the Meritorious Service Medal, a | ||||||
4 | humanitarian commendation for non-lethal containment of the | ||||||
5 | enemy in an armed crisis, and commendations for 100 non-duty | ||||||
6 | hours in protecting a military installation of 1,300 personnel; | ||||||
7 | and

8 | WHEREAS, Sgt. Jeremie Kobler was a member of Beth Eden | ||||||
9 | Methodist Church and played rugby for the Rockford Ravens; he | ||||||
10 | loved playing with his children and photography; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Sgt. Jeremie Kobler was preceded in death by his | ||||||
12 | maternal grandparents, Dorothy Sanner Marquez and Dagoberto V. | ||||||
13 | Marquez, and his paternal grandfather, George Kobler; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Sgt. Jeremie Kobler is survived by his wife; his | ||||||
15 | children, Chloe and Connor; his parents; his brothers, Matthew | ||||||
16 | and Jason (Debbie); his nieces, Madysen and Alice; his nephews, | ||||||
17 | Johnny, Jakob, and Joseph; his paternal grandmother, Katherine | ||||||
18 | Bertling; his aunt, Judy Tilton; and his aunt and uncle, Karen | ||||||
19 | and Mike Joynt; therefore, be it

20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
21 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
