| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Chief Dean H. Strzelecki | ||||||
| 4 | on the occasion of his retirement from the Village of Niles | ||||||
| 5 | Police Department after 39 years of service; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Chief Strzelecki joined the Niles Police | ||||||
| 7 | Department on November 1, 1975; in 1983, he was transferred | ||||||
| 8 | from the Patrol Division to the Investigation Division; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Chief Strzelecki was promoted to the rank of | ||||||
| 10 | Sergeant in August of 1988, to Commander in August of 1992, and | ||||||
| 11 | to Deputy Chief of Police in February of 2000; he was appointed | ||||||
| 12 | to the position of Chief of Police in September of 2004; he | ||||||
| 13 | graduated from the FBI National Academy in March of 2000; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Chief Strzelecki received the Chiefs Valor Award | ||||||
| 15 | in October of 1988 for saving a woman from a fire at her home; | ||||||
| 16 | he is a member of the Niles Chamber of Commerce & Industry and | ||||||
| 17 | was presented with its Niles Citizen of the Year Award in 1995 | ||||||
| 18 | and the Ken Scheel Chamber Member of the Year Award in 2006; in | ||||||
| 19 | 2012, he was recognized as Chief of the Year by the Illinois | ||||||
| 20 | Crime Prevention Association, and, in 2014, he was named the | ||||||
| 21 | Cook County Police Chief of the Year by the Illinois State | ||||||
| 22 | Crime Commission; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Chief Strzelecki will be retiring on November 14, | ||||||
| 2 | 2014; therefore, be it

| 3 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 4 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 5 | we congratulate Chief Dean H. Strzelecki on his retirement from | ||||||
| 6 | the Village of Niles Police Department after 39 year of service | ||||||
| 7 | and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it | ||||||
| 8 | further

| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to Chief Strzelecki as an expression of our esteem | ||||||
| 11 | and respect.
