| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Big John's Grocery | ||||||
| 4 | Store on 25 years of service to the people of Eldorado; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Huck's Grocery was sold to Dan Dowdy on May 20, | ||||||
| 6 | 1985; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Dan has worked in the store since 1976, where he | ||||||
| 8 | eventually became the store manager until the time he purchased | ||||||
| 9 | the store from Martin and Bayley, Inc.; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Eric Johnson became a partner in the business | ||||||
| 11 | shortly after Dan purchased the store; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Big John's is located at the intersection of Route | ||||||
| 13 | 45 and Route 142 in Eldorado, where it currently employs 41 | ||||||
| 14 | staff members, 3 of whom have been with Dan and Eric since they | ||||||
| 15 | became co-owners of the store; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, On May 20, 2010, the City of Eldorado hosted a | ||||||
| 17 | ceremony honoring Big John's; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 19 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||

| 1 | congratulate Big John's on 25 years of service to the people of | ||||||
| 2 | Eldorado; and be it further
| ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 4 | presented to Dan Dowdy and Eric Johnson as a symbol of our | ||||||
| 5 | respect and esteem.
