HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Kurt Crowe on
4receiving the "2014 Rural Physician of Excellence Award" from
5the Illinois Rural Health Association; and
6 WHEREAS, One of the biggest healthcare challenges across
7our nation is the shortage of physicians who practice in rural
8settings; and
9 WHEREAS, Dr. Crowe graduated in 1997 as a member of the
10inaugural class of the University of Illinois College of
11Medicine at Rockford's Rural Medical Education Program; and
12 WHEREAS, In 2000, Dr. Crowe completed his residency at the
13University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford; and
14 WHEREAS, Dr. Crowe is Board Certified by the American Board
15of Family Medicine; and
16 WHEREAS, Dr. Crowe began his rural medical career by
17practicing in Princeton, where he worked until 2006; he then
18joined the KSB Medical Group; and
19 WHEREAS, Dr. Crowe provides not only the full range of

1family medicine services to his rural patients, but he is one
2of the few family practice physicians who also provides
3maternity care; and
4 WHEREAS, Through his roles both as an instructor and
5preceptor, Dr. Crowe takes the time to teach and serve as a
6role model for future generations of rural physicians; and
7 WHEREAS, For the past 15 years, Dr. Crowe has served on the
8Recruitment and Retention Committee for the University of
9Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford's Rural Health
10Education Program, providing valuable insights and
11recommendations for the selection of future rural physicians;
12and
13 WHEREAS, The patient care and expertise that Dr. Crowe
14provides has become vital to area residents; therefore, be it
15 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17we commend Dr. Crowe for his selfless service to his community
18and the impact he has made on improving rural health, and we
19congratulate Dr. Kurt Crowe on receiving the "2014 Rural
20Physician of Excellence Award"; and be it further
21 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
