HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives are pleased to congratulate John Tykol on the
occasion of his retirement from the Streamwood Fire Department
after over 21 years of service; and
WHEREAS, John Tykol joined the Streamwood Fire Department
on March 8, 1993 and officially retired on May 17, 2014; and
WHEREAS, John Tykol is a State-certified paramedic with
over 20 years of service; he is also State-certified as a
Firefighter II, Firefighter III, Hazardous Material Technician
A, Hazardous Material Technician B, and Vertical Technician
Rescue I; he has been a member of the Hazardous Materials Team
for over 20 years; and
WHEREAS, John Tykol served as the liaison with Sherman
Hospital involving the EMS computer programing and as the
President of the Professional Firefighters Association Local
3022 for 4 years; and
WHEREAS, John Tykol and his wife, Karen, have a son, Sam
and a daughter, Hanna; he enjoys sailing and bicycling; and
WHEREAS, A celebration will be held honoring John Tykol on

May 23, 2014 at the Fireside Ale House in Streamwood;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we congratulate John Tykol on his retirement from the
Streamwood Fire Department after over 21 years of service; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to John Tykol as an expression of our esteem and
respect.
