| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the employees and | ||||||
| 4 | owners of Strang Funeral Home in Antioch on the occasion of the | ||||||
| 5 | organization's 100th anniversary in 2012; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Strang Funeral Home of Antioch was founded in | ||||||
| 7 | 1912 by Leland Strang; his son, Ed Strang, grew up in Antioch | ||||||
| 8 | and worked for his father since 1931; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, In 1933, Strang Funeral Home was moved to its | ||||||
| 10 | current location at the former Charles Thorn Farm house; in | ||||||
| 11 | 1941, an expansion was constructed on 2 acres of ground on the | ||||||
| 12 | premises; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, In 1950, Ed Strang purchased the business from his | ||||||
| 14 | father; in 1962, during the 50th anniversary of the business, | ||||||
| 15 | Mr. Strang extensively remodeled the funeral home; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Following Mr. Strang's retirement in 1976, Dan | ||||||
| 17 | Dugenske, who had been on staff since 1959, became the new | ||||||
| 18 | owner; today, Mr. Dugenske and his staff continue to be | ||||||
| 19 | dedicated to the families they serve in the Wisconsin and | ||||||
| 20 | Illinois areas; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, The employees and owners of Strang Funeral Home | ||||||
| 2 | serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the | ||||||
| 3 | people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 5 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 6 | we congratulate the employees and owners of Strang Funeral Home | ||||||
| 7 | on the occasion of the organization's 100th anniversary, thank | ||||||
| 8 | them for their many years of dedicated service to the people of | ||||||
| 9 | Antioch and the State of Illinois, and wish them continued | ||||||
| 10 | success and happiness in the future; and be it further
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 12 | presented to Strang Funeral Home as a symbol of our esteem and | ||||||
| 13 | respect.
