2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of John | ||||||
4 | Rogers, who passed away on May 1, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, John Rogers was born in Monmouth on July 29, 1941; | ||||||
6 | he graduated from Alexis High School in 1959; he attended Notre | ||||||
7 | Dame University; in 1964, he earned his bachelor of science | ||||||
8 | degree from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, John Rogers earned his master's degree from | ||||||
10 | Western Illinois University and completed post-graduate work | ||||||
11 | at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville; following the | ||||||
12 | completion of his education, he decided to build his life in | ||||||
13 | the Riverbend region; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, John Rogers dedicated his career to serving the | ||||||
15 | youth of Alton as a school teacher, coach, and assistant | ||||||
16 | principal at Marquette Catholic High School; he dedicated many | ||||||
17 | years to Marquette, starting in 1964 until his retirement in | ||||||
18 | 2003; he was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in | ||||||
19 | Godfrey; therefore, be it

20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
21 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we we |

1 | recognize John Rogers for his dedicated service to Marquette | ||||||
2 | Catholic High School and the youth of Alton; we also mourn the | ||||||
3 | passing of John Rogers, and we extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
4 | to his wife, Katherine, his son, John, his family, his friends, | ||||||
5 | and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of John Rogers as an expression of our | ||||||
8 | deepest sympathy.
