Bill Title: Urges Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate possible criminal activity at the Surgi-Center abortion mill. Urges that the investigation include proper autopsies to find out how these children died and that this investigation be conducted in the same manner as any other homicide investigation would be conducted.

2 | WHEREAS, The pro-life group Progressive Anti-Abortion | ||||||
3 | Uprising found the bodies of 115 babies who were allegedly | ||||||
4 | illegally aborted; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Five of the bodies are in the custody of the | ||||||
6 | Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, The bodies of the aborted babies appear to be | ||||||
8 | fully developed and appear to be the victims of partial-birth | ||||||
9 | abortion and potentially even post-birth abortion; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Partial-birth abortion is illegal in the United | ||||||
11 | States; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, The Surgi-Center in Washington D.C. advertises on | ||||||
13 | its website that it performs abortions as late as 27 weeks; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, A baby can survive outside the womb at as early as | ||||||
15 | 22 weeks of pregnancy; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. | ||||||
17 | Department of Justice have refused to perform autopsies on the | ||||||
18 | babies; and

1 | WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Police Department has made | ||||||
2 | reference to the bodies of five dead fully formed infants as | ||||||
3 | "items"; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Police Department under the | ||||||
5 | direction of Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser appears more | ||||||
6 | interested in investigating the pro-life activists who found | ||||||
7 | the bodies than the possible illegal activity at the | ||||||
8 | Surgi-Center; therefore, be it

9 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
10 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
11 | we urge Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Attorney | ||||||
12 | General Merrick Garland to investigate possible criminal | ||||||
13 | activity at the Surgi-Center abortion mill, urge that the | ||||||
14 | investigation include proper autopsies to find out how these | ||||||
15 | children died, and urge that this investigation be conducted | ||||||
16 | in the same manner as any other homicide investigation would | ||||||
17 | be conducted; and be it further

18 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | delivered to Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, Attorney | ||||||
20 | General Merrick Garland, all Illinois constitutional officers, | ||||||
21 | the Speaker and Minority Leader of the Illinois House of | ||||||
22 | Representatives, and the President and Minority Leader of the | ||||||
23 | Illinois Senate.
