2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Joe Price, World | ||||||
4 | War II Army Veteran, on being honored during the 8th Annual | ||||||
5 | Mayfair Remembrance Day: Salute to American Heroes; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Joe Price was deployed to the China-Burma-India | ||||||
7 | Theater of Operations to fight against the Japanese during | ||||||
8 | World War II; as a member of the Military Police, he was | ||||||
9 | charged with protecting critical shipments of war materials | ||||||
10 | down the famed "Ledo Road" toward Burma; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Joe was a quiet man who spoke his mind when he had | ||||||
12 | to and served his country during an important time in history; | ||||||
13 | and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, After leaving the service in December of 1945 he | ||||||
16 | worked at a tannery in Chicago for many years; he and his wife | ||||||
17 | moved to Mayfair in 1961; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Together with his wife, now deceased, they had | ||||||
19 | four children and three grandchildren; therefore, be it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
2 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
3 | congratulate Joe Price on this honor and thank him for his | ||||||
4 | years of service to his country; and be it further

5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
6 | presented to Joe Price as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
