HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Joe Price, World
War II Army Veteran, on being honored during the 8th Annual
Mayfair Remembrance Day: Salute to American Heroes; and
WHEREAS, Joe Price was deployed to the China-Burma-India
Theater of Operations to fight against the Japanese during
World War II; as a member of the Military Police, he was
charged with protecting critical shipments of war materials
down the famed "Ledo Road" toward Burma; and
WHEREAS, Joe was a quiet man who spoke his mind when he had
to and served his country during an important time in history;
and
WHEREAS, He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal; and
WHEREAS, After leaving the service in December of 1945 he
worked at a tannery in Chicago for many years; he and his wife
moved to Mayfair in 1961; and
WHEREAS, Together with his wife, now deceased, they had
four children and three grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
congratulate Joe Price on this honor and thank him for his
years of service to his country; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to Joe Price as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
